Purpose and authorized activities
O-1, L-1 and J-1 are nonimmigrant pathways with conditions on activities and stay. Employment-based EB categories are connected to permanent residence procedures.
Review work and immigration status together
A job offer, petition approval, visa issuance and permission to enter or remain are separate matters. One outcome does not authorize every activity.
A change of status needs its own review
If you are already in the United States, consider maintenance of your current status alongside your plans. A visa does not automatically convert into permanent residence.
